Getting to Toledo Pride

The Toledo Gay Pride Day Rally and March will gather at Government Center between 11 am and noon on Sunday, June 25. The march will step off at noon, following the sidewalks to the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge, then across the bridge to International Park.

March organizers recommend that marchers park cars at International Park, and walk back to the march stepoff at Government Center, avoiding a return to the stepoff site later. It is about a 10-minute walk. International Park is on the Maumee River right at the southern end of the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge, which connects Cherry St. with Main St. Government Center is on Jackson St., between Erie and Huron.

The march will follow Jackson St. south to Summit St., go one block east on Summit to Cherry St., and follow Cherry St. across the bridge to the park.

Bring a picnic lunch. Organizers report that vendors will not be at the event, so there will not be food. Bicycles, strollers, and pets are welcome; people with pets should bring water for them. The sidewalk march route is wheelchair accessible.

To get to the march and rally: From the east via 1-80 and 1-280

Get off the Ohio Turnpike (I-80 and 90) onto I-280 north. Get off I-280 at Front Street (Exit 9), and follow Front Street west about

14 blocks to International Park.

To get to the stepoff, get off I-280 at Summit St. (Exit 10), and follow it about ten blocks west to Jackson St. (This exit is also Huron St., which also goes to Jackson St.) From Summit, turn right on Jackson; Government Center is three blocks up at Huron.

From the south via 1-75

Follow I-75 to Miami St. (Exit 199). Take Miami east (or north) about a half-mile to International Park.

To get to the march stepoff, continue past the park to the Martin Luther King Bridge (Main St.); turn left and go across the bridge. Turn left at the first street, Summit, then turn right onto the first street, Jackson. (This is the march route, backwards.)

From the west via l-475

Follow I-475 to I-75 south, then follow the directions in "From the south" above. Or, to get to the stepoff, get off I-75 at Indiana Ave. (Exit 202), go left on Indiana to Washington, go right on Washington about five blocks to Huron, turn left, and go another five blocks to Jackson.

From the north via I-75

Exit I-75 onto I-280 north of downtown, then follow the directions in "From the east" above.
